GAINING GROUND

No doubt all listening to today’s podcast are familiar with the two words used above to identify the theme of today’s podcast – gaining ground. The familiar phrase could be applied to a variety of things such as market share in a business venture, a weight-loss program wherein pound droppage is considered “ground gaining” success, a first down in a football game and certainly many other applications.

In my rendering of the phrase, I focus on two types of ground gaining for the true follower of Jesus.

1. Gaining ground for God’s kingdom here on earth (“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven …”) and …

2. God gaining ground in our own slowly-being-surrendered lives as we learn how to let Him have His way by taking over more and more of our own private agendas.
