Well, the pastors of the early American Puritan era certainly believed in preaching the whole counsel of God. And while the centrality of the cross, the substitutionary work of Christ, His resurrection, and His conquest of sin and death remained the central core of the Puritan pastor’s focus, he did not hesitate to teach and instruct on other themes of Scripture. History demonstrates that these teachings became the seedbed, or the bedrock of our constitutional republic’s Judeo-Christian beginnings.
