NightWatch Podcast EPISODE 26: THE CALL PART 5 – REVISITING THE CALL: 5 MIN.

STUMPH RUN FARM/>

Every Christian has the call of God upon their life. But oh, how easy it is to place ourselves into a position where that call is muffled, suppressed or drowned out by the cares of this world.

The call of God on my life began bouncing around in my heart when I was sixteen years old. But it was not until twelve years later (1980) that I actually attempted to articulate the nature of that call.

It happened in a log cabin built by Michael Stump in the mid 1740’s along the South Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River in what is now Hardy County, West Virginia. The log cabin, pictured above, is now owned by my wife’s uncle who considers himself as more of a caretaker than a property owner.

An interesting side note is that George Washington, at the age of 16, and working as a member of Lord Fairfax’s survey team, made an entry in his journal about the several days he spent on the Michael Stump property in 1748.
