NightWatch Podcast EPISODE 42: BUNGLED CHANCES PART 2- CUTTING EDGE: 4-½ MIN.

>CUTTING EDGE

Certainly, you have heard phrases like “Kick the Bucket,” “Beat Around the Bush” or “Don’t Burn Your Bridges.” Well, the term “Cutting Edge” falls into the same category as the others noted above. These short common phrases are known as idioms, creative expressions, dropped in certain ways and in certain circles where their meanings are clearly understood by those who partake in the conversation.

The phrase, “Cutting Edge,” is a relatively new idiom used primarily to describe commendable advances in the technological realm. Another way to communicate the “Cutting Edge” message might be “I’m The Cat’s Pajamas.”

I can tell you this from my own personal experience. Many of us who became engaged in the “Shepherding Movement (1973-1986),” tended to believe that we were indeed “The Cat’s Pajamas.” Like the Bostonian Puritans in the late 1600’s, we too believed that our way of doing Christianity was superior to other expressions of the faith. A grave error indeed in both accounts.
